After a massive heart attack Carrie Fisher suffered on a plane from London and several days in intensive care, the child of Hollywood royalty passed on.
While on a plane from London to Los Angeles, Carrie Fisher (Star Wars’ beloved Princess Leia) suffered massive heart attack. According to reports provided by the plane’s passengers, the plane’s captain asked immediately whether there is a medical doctor onboard. The flight’s crew, an emergency medical technician and a nurse rushed to help. We’ve been told that CPR was performed on Carrie Fisher while the plane was still in the air.
The airplane reached LAX fifteen minutes after the crises begun. Still in spite the efforts of many, Fisher was unresponsive when the plane landed. An ambulance took her to a taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center from the tarmac. Carrie spent several days in intensive care reportedly fighting for life. She passed away, today on December 27the 2016.
Carrie Fisher was the daughter of Hollywood’s royalty. Her mother is Debbie Reynolds; her father was Eddie Fisher. Carrie was an actress, producer and screenwriter. She was also a fearless advocate for mental health (she suffered from bi-polar disorder herself) and a prolific and successful author. (One of her books “Postcards from the Edge”, a semi-autobiographical novel, which Carrie Fisher later adapted for the Big Screen became the critically acclaimed 1990 film – by the same title – starring Meryl Streep, Shirley MacLaine and Dennis Quaid. It was a box office hit.) Those who knew her well valued her extra-ordinary, self-deprecating sense of humor. Carrie Fisher reprised her role as Princess Leia in 2015 Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She was in London on a promotional tour for her new book “The Princess Diarist” which was named Best Book of Fall 2016 by the PEOPLE Magazine. It was on her way back home from London that she suffered cardiac arrest from which she didn’t recover.
Carrie Fisher is survived by her daughter, her mother and siblings. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones, friends and fans.
